Short Summary
Comments:
The scenery is beautiful. Happy Acres is in the mountains with level sites. The owner's have had the campground for three years, so there is still some work on the ammenities. For example, the showers. For 25 cents for three minutes, you can't adjust the water and there is no dressing area. Craziest of all--the coin deposit is across the room. So put in your money and run to the stall!!

My husband and I were disappointed in the lack of hospitality. It started when I made the reserations. They required a credit card number which I thought was needed for security reasons. They charged half of our week's stay on the card and stated that a few weeks before we get there, they will charge the remained. I did not give the ok to do this and stated that we would pay the balance upon our arrival. Walking around the campground there were warnings about not picking up after your dog--A $10 neglect fee would be imposed. And don't even think about taking any wood, they would call the police, prosecute and you will never be permitted on the grounds again!! Not that I condone stealing, but holy smoke lighten up again. Oh, and don't forget your MANDATORY wrist band for the pool! Despite all of the smiling happy faces posted around the campground, the place just overall didn't have a friendly feel. We spoke to another camper who had been coming to this campground for years and he expresed the same feelings.

Also, they charge $8 a pet per stay. The gal in the office said that all of the campgrounds she had stayed in in PA do this. Well, they sure don't do this in campgrounds I've stayed in in other states!!

It's a beautiful place and I hope the owners can see that they need to really put out the "Welcome" mat so that campers don't get the feeling that we are so untrusworthy!!
