Short Summary
Great RV park in NE Michigan. Beautiful golf course; very reasonable rates. Don't miss Carriage Ride to see Elk & have dinner at remote cabin.
Comments:
WOW! The RV park is small, clean, and well taken care of. No showerhouse, but that's not a problem for most of us RVers. We're big golfers and they have a beautiful course - with very reasonable rates. The Clubhouse is just pitching wedge away from the RV park, so we could easily walk back and forth. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the Clubhouse Grill so I hardly had to cook while we were there.
Best of all, the Carriage Ride to see the Elk and have dinner at the remote cabin was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As full-time RVers, we've been all over the country and have never seen anything like it. The Percheron and Belgian horses that draw these carriages are beautiful - almost as interesting as the elk. The ride takes you through the woods and past fields where we saw three bull elk that were just getting their antlers - all covered in velvet. Also saw babies born this spring. Dinner at the cabin was also quite an experience. The couple who own the Resort were our hosts - and we got very special, personal attention from them even though there were about 40 of us on this ride. The menu was outstanding. All cooked right in front of us on 100-year-old wood cook stoves. During dinner we enjoyed hearing from Jack and Jan (owners) about the elk and the history of the place. They were very entertaining and you could see they both love doing this. It took over three hours, and we enjoyed every minute. Time and money well-spent. Be sure to make your way to NE Michigan to experience this place.
