The only good thing about Lake Laurie campground was the fact that it was a short distance to Cape May beaches. The sites were tiny. Our site didn't even have room for a fire ring, as did about 5 others in our group of 8 families. Our awning was only about 2 feet away from the camper next to ours. As for electric service, it was horrible. Our breaker must have tripped at least 20 times a day, if not more. The fuses were not up to par (as even one of the maintenance guys said so himself). The lake was dirty and full of bugs and fish ~ and a huge black snake. Most of the staff was not very friendly and extremely strict (for how low-budget this place is). I felt like we were in the Dominican, with all kinds of island music playing very loud everywhere around us. We lost our water service 2 days into our trip. Everyone did, even the bath-houses had NO water pressure. This place was bad, we will not be returning.

We love this place! It's our best kept secret, and we hope the word doesn't get out too fast. It's such a quiet campground. They don't have much to offer in the way of ammenities/activities, but that's one of the reasons why we love it so much. The kids are "forced" to get creative. They love to tube down the river, hike up the trail and swim in "Susie's Hole" (I think that's what it's called), and do some fishing. It's the most relaxing place to camp. Our family favorite by far.
