We have been coming to Two Rivers Campground every year for over 6 years. We used to love this place but have experienced so many things and have left several times saying we would never come back again. We decided to try it again last year on our family vacation in July. We had two sites on the river booked for over 4 months. The owners know us quite well and had not only our address and phone number but also our e-mail. When we arrived we were met by the owner and we joked about all the money they were making with the nice weather and he said "oh no, we aren't doing well this year because our entire river area has been flooded." He told us most of the area is off limits but they found us two sites on the river. They did not offer to show us the sites first in case we weren't interested and did not even call us or give us any warning ahead of time. Most of the area along the river was roped off, mud everywhere, the beach was disgusting and it was just a mess. We were so disappointed that someone did not forewarn us. We also knew if it rained at all we would be sitting in water and probably have a tough time getting out on check out day. Wouldn't you know it, on check out day it rained several inches. We got one camper out (leaving some ruts and skid marks in the new grass) and had to have the other camper pulled out by the owner. When he came down he was quite rude and acted like it was our fault that this all happened (at least that is how we felt). He was also upset that we had made marks and ruined the new grass. Are you kidding me??? You couldn't even walk down there without making marks. If they didn't want people down there they should have called us and let us know. We were also offered no discount or anything for the conditions or the fact that we didn't get the sites we booked. We realize they have no control over flooding - that is an act of God but good customer service would have been appreciated. They should have called us, e-mailed us or even said when we got there "let's check this out before you pay and drive down the hill." They did nothing. They did nothing because "money is money." I was really disappointed with them. I also agree with other posts on here that the campers should be grateful they were allowed to stay here instead of the owner's being grateful for the customer's. The place is beautiful but the customer service sucks and they really need to work on that and their people skills or they will be out of business. In the past I have had many friends and family bash Two Rivers and I have always defended them and kept coming back. This was the last straw so we will not be staying here again and have told many others about our experience.
