This is a good area for people who like lakes, Merriland River Reservoir is a lake around here. Hiking along the Shore Path Trail is great fun. Lakes are great, Staple Pond is a lake that’s close to Outdoor world Moody Beach. Interesting geology is available here, Bald Head Cliff is right here. If you want to get a better view of the area you could always climb Coles Hill. Taking a little trip to nearby Fishermans Cove is a great idea. Some of the water around here flows, like Depot Brook. Looking for some flowing water? Try Bragdon Brook.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Staples Pond. The Basin is a great place. Pope Creek is a great local stream. The Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve is a great place. A visit to Mayo Falls will fill your soul with good feelings. If you’re into the whole hydro structure thing you can check out Wells Harbor. Town Woods is worth checking out. Getting to Blacksmith Brook from Outdoor world Moody Beach is a piece of cake. Webhannet River is a great place to visit. If you want a little side trip, try Bucklin Rock.

From New Hampshire And South: Take I-95 north to Maine Exit 7, Ogunquit and York Beaches (last exit before Maine turnpike). Take Rt. 1 north 8.3 miles to campground entrance on left-behind Wonder Mountain Golf. From Portland And North: Take Maine Turnpike south to Exit 19 (Wells Sanford). From the exit turn left onto Rt. 109, follow it a short distance to junction of Rt. 1. Go south on Rt. 1 approximately 2 1/2 miles to campground entrance on right-behind Wonder Mountain Golf.
