Favorable summer breezes attract colorful wind-surfing boards to Storrie Lake State Park, which is also popular for fishing and boating. The visitor center features historical exhibits about the Santa Fe Trail and 19th century Las Vegas.

Fantastic View of the lake

This is a beautiful State Park with numerous areas to camp. There are four sections. One is the N. area campground with elec./water hookups right next to the side of the road. Usually we see overnighters there since it is first come. The road noise would drive me crazy plus they are stacked in like cord wood. The S. area is very nice with trees, grass, and a playground for the kids. All of the sites have a 3 sided shelter with a roof on a cement pad and a picnic table. There is also a firering/grill next to the shelter. This area is a mixture of elec/water sites and non elec. sites. There are a few first come sites mixed in. Further around the lake are more elec./water sites but there is a lenght limit of 26 feet. One of the best features of this park is the ability to camp right on the lake. There are no amenities but it's not that far from the bathroom/showers.... This state park is fantastic and very close to town. The only drawback to this park is that it's on the reservation system and hard to get 7 nights in a row without spending a fortune for each reservation. You may find yourself playing musical sites until a first come site becomes available..
