Mission Bell RV Resort and its side-by-side sister property Trade Winds RV Resort is a fabulous resort styled active 55+ retirement community located in the Rio Grande Valley region of south Texas. Our 630 space park is equipped with the latest facilities and amenities for your comfort and convenience, and open to both nightly and seasonal guests alike. So whether you are coming for the night, or staying for the year, we have everything you will need for a memorable stay. Our Resort is more than just an RV park, it’s a community. We have one of the best activities directors in the entire area, who plans regularly scheduled social events and coordinates all of our dances, card games and entertainment venues. We have many clubs and organizations that meet regularly in the park, including a motor cycle club, computer club and golf groups. Our new exercise room is a real hit with out customers. We host weekly dances with live bands in our 20,000 SF recreation and dance hall with a floating wood dance floor. We also have a full dance program and jams weekly. We are within minutes of 5 golf courses and have a very active golf group of over 60 golfers that host regular golf outings and social events. We also have motorcycle clubs and computer clubs. We have quilters, sewers and crafters as well as a fully equipped woodworking shop. There is always something brewing at our park. But if you just want to relax, we have two heated salt water swimming pools and spas for your enjoyment.

this is a 2 star park with 5 star people. no grass to speak of, lots of burrs in what there is. Wifi only works in a few sites and not very well when it does. Lots of people complaining, lost 52 full time people last year. New asst mgr. has most workers upset it seems. will never come back here again and have heard others saying the same thing. pool is nice except for the painted areas all peeling off.

Fun stay; lots to do

We enjoyed our stay at Mission Bell. There was a lot of activities. Their activities director Audrey is fantastic. The activities start to slow down the end of March because a lot of the winter visitors were going home. We appreciated the free phone for long distance calling. They had a nice library area and put in a new counter where they put in a business like center for computer use. They had free wifi to our site, which worked fine. They also had a free computer to use in the library which my husband used when I was hogging our computer. Some people used the area to hook up their laptop. The salt water pools were a first for us and we enjoyed them. It was nice to have a heated pool. We went to some great dances they have on Thursday nights to a live band for only $4 a ticket. We will go back just for the activities alone. There are lots of parks but this one really has a lot going on. They had a bicycle club that was loading up and going riding. They were starting lots of upgrades as we were leaving. They were putting in three additional shower rooms, which made it a little cluttered to use the other shower rooms but we worked around that. When we checked in, Ed helped us park our unit and Shirley in the office was really nice. They have new managers now who checked us out. They were also really nice.

Poorly managed,promised amenities not available

Management intimidated the residents so they would not complain about not receiving what they paid for. Owners are from Colorado and have allowed him to ruin a park that was once called the friendliest place in the valley. Will not return and neither will a good many of the long time residents due to the rudeness and abuse of power of the manager.
