Nice.

overall the place was nice. it's set in an oak grove surrounded by farm fields. it was quiet, the bathrooms were clean. there's a fairly large pool and some tiny cabins. I think a couple ran the place together; the woman was sweet, but the man heckled my boyfriend a few times over the couple days we stayed. he also spoke about our neighbors, some young guys, with disdain. any male under 30 might be growled at by this guy, but overall it was quiet, clean, and with some spacious tent campsites.

Very friendly neat campground

I like this campground very much, sites are just roomy enough, its clean, quiet, and most of very friendly management. We stayed at Hickery Hollow in Utica and will never return ther again. Hickery Hollow management were very rude and spoke to us as if we were children, when they drilled us with the rules. Stay away from Hickery Hollow and come to KOA.

typical KOA in country setting

Date:

October 7, 2005

Conveniently located only a couple miles from I-80 - far enough away to avoid road noise but easy to get to for an overnight. Located on a country road by a cow pasture. When we were there one of the cows "escaped" into the campground, but campers and local farmer on ATV herded it back to the other side of the fence. Sites small & tight w/ shared hookups. Pullthru sites may not end up being pullthru, as they park 2, sometimes 3 campers in the same (long) site. The one in the middle isn't going anywhere until one of the others leaves!
Friendly managers, though, and clean facilities. Decent for an overnight stop,or base camp in the LaSalle/Utica/Peru area.
