Stay Away!

Very dusty and numerous potholes and ruts. The staff was friendly but never around. They give you a phone number to call if you have a problem but it seems the seasonal residents can do what they want regardless of the rules. Bathrooms are NOT ADA unless you can get a wheel chair upstairs! The bathroom near our campsite smelled of urine and not toilet paper or cleaning for 3 days!
The hot tub was out of order and we were not informed of this when booking our stay. The pools were full of dead bugs and the camp store is almost never open! So be prepared to go into town if you need ice. Weekend residents are loud well beyond the quite hour and management ignores it! The flies are unbelievable there and worse than the mosquitoes!
We were so disgusted we pulled out a day early.

I have to agree with everthing al4277 and Fifthwheeldude had
put in their comments. I would like to add that on busy weekends the dump station would be full and weekenders would have no place to dump their black water. They would have to take it with them. For seasonals they charge $20 for a pump out but the pump never worked right so it wasn't worth and you would do it your self. They also have a propane station which is suppose to be open at 11:30am and 4:00pm but they were never there at those times. They have horseshoe pits that are the pits. They are on a hill, so you either throw up or down hill.

I totally agree with the last review. The place has Co-Op which means you can buy your site. only Co-Op can have sheds and build decks, while the Seasonals who I have seen help work on the campground be treated like dirt. The pool area is in very bad shape, the cement pad is up in spots which is a trip hazard. They start projects and never finish. How can they say they have ADA bathrooms when there is no ramp? The roads through out are just terrible. Hardly any rule is ever enforced ,with the Co-Op seems to be exempt form obeying any rule.It seems the campground even posted a review about a new Campground down the road and left a bad review,(on a different camp review) but gave themselves a great review.(Read first review granddaughters name is lyndsey at Hemlock Hill) Do they have to stoop so low? They had a donation bottle to build a play ground, where is it? 2 little old play ground pieces and that's it! The owner promised a Nature Center for 2008, must be invisible.

natural wooded campground

Date:

We stayed at this park and enjoyed the beautiful wooded country setting. It is located in the historic town of litchfield. It was a true back to nature experience with all the amenities at our finger tips. The campground offers two pools, a hot tub, free wi-fi (which allowed me to still stay in contact with home), fully stocked store, new heated ADA bathrooms, arcade, full planned activities, and much more. The staff was very friendly and I was amazed how well they treated there campers. They even delivered our fire wood for use so we didnt have to lift a finger.
