July 8, 2013
Our party of nine reserved 3 adjacent sites for the long 4th of July weekend 2013. We had full water, electric, sewer, cable and wi-fi. The sites were grassy with nice trees. The one amenity lacking at this place is a swimming pool.
They do have a pond, but it was a mud hole and the water was very green. They actually used chlorine to sanitize it and killed whatever aquatic life existed in it, with dead polliwogs littering the shore. Although they are right on the Quinebaug River, their rules state that no swimming is allowed from the shore. This was very frustrating since the temperature during our stay was in the 90s. The mosquitoes during the day were bad but at night drove us into our units. To be fair, this is a bad year for mosquitoes because of all the Spring rains, but along with the heat, did not make for a pleasant experience on this trip.
