The Worst ever

The hole camp ground is a mud bath. They could stand to lay
some stone and pavement down.
You walk right out of the shower and sink in a foot of mud if it rained. Lastly their is no park security. They let everyone drive these
golf carts and it turns the place in to a show from the
dukes of hazard. My son had his scooter stolen from the back of our truck parked 5 ft from our RV. The managements
responce was "Things like that usually end up in our lake..." not real sympathitic. I like to camp
but dont like to sleep with the wolfs! I'll never be back!

Owner rolls his eyes at gust complaints

Date:

May 29, 2011

I just returned from Camping at Wildwood KOA of Medina, NY. This was my second visit at the camp grounds. I had many fellow campers among my group. (Six campers including myself). I booked my camp site far enough in advance to avoid any problems.
Before I go farther, I want you to know last year I was looking to go seasonal at this camp ground, they informed me that they would not accept campers 10 years or older., which at the time mine was, so I bought a brand new 2011 trailer that August of 2011. I asked to see the camp grounds and find out about their seasonal. The owner wasn’t able to show me around, actually no one did, even t our request. The showers houses were newer looking but the insides were old and the shower heads were covered with hard water build up. There were no Kamping Kitchens.
Now on to this camping season. I know we have has an unusual amount of rain for our area, weather is part of camping. This we know and accept, but the conditions of the camp grounds was appalling. The site that we were placed in had a short thin pad of stone and no other place to park a second car. Upon check in I asked if my 31 foot trailer would fit with my truck. “It should fit a 30, just make sure you back up far enough”. We backed in and we sank. To ensure to no block the road, we had to back up farther. Our tow car had to park in the picnic area, which sank and became stuck. It began to rain, and so did the start of our problems.
The site flooded, not just a little but right up to our first step, we could smell sewage and see the film on the top of the water. The office was already closed. (6 p.m.) I called the reservations and asked if there was another spot we could relocate to in the a.m.; the owner told me that I could relocate to another site in the P loop that was of high ground. The owner also informed me that he just installed new drain tiles and this pooling should be drained by the morning. The pooling never went away or drained. We did see the owner come to our site and walk around it; never did he knock on our door or make an attempt to speak to us.
When we attempted to move to the other site what the owner said we could move to, both our trailer and truck became stuck. Our old site was still a pond. The camp grounds Manager came with a tractor and was able to pull us free, but informed me that we would have to move to another loop or back to the one that we left because the people who were going to the site we were told to move to were here and that we could not go to that site. We were offered wood to attempt to be out of the water getting in and out of our old site. The other site we were offered had little stone and tall grass.
When I asked to speak to the owner about a refund, he told me there were no refunds, and did I know just how many thousands of people he turns away each season? I reminded him of our conversation from last year about seasonal, he rolled his eyes and became very rude and did not care about the quality of customer service he was providing. I realized that once he began to roll his eyes at me and refuse to look at me I knew that he cared very little about my business.
I spoke to the other parties of our camping group after we left to inform them that we left. They informed me that their BRAND NEW trailer also got stuck and their truck. The towing rig that was pulling their trailer out broke and dented their new trailer. They also asked for a refund and were denied, and shown no concern for their new trailer.
It is evident that the owner has little regard to be customer first orientated. His park was ill equipped with proper amounts of stone or drainage. (they announced that many upgrades were complete for this year)
I am very disgusted to have thought of this camp grounds as a solid representative of KOA and what KOA stands for.
I would like a refund for my visit. Should you need photo evidence of the pond my camper was in I will be very happy to provide you with it. This KOA is not giving KOA a good name. We are camping all but 7 days of the camping season. We are blogging about each camping place. I will be sure to blog about your response.
Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.

just OK

Just changed to KOA. Not up to standards yet. Not bad if you get a decent site. Owner does some goofy things. Puts a bathroom next to new pool with no sink. Where does the kids poopy hand go. Right into the pool. Seems to step over dollars to save nickels. Bathroms have no lights. Could put a motion sensor if he wants to save electric. Roads are horrible. Sites ill defined. On positive nice location, level ,decent activity for kids

POOR BUSINESS PEOPLE

Do not reccomend..... camp owners are self serving pompous and let this place run by itself. Once they have your money you are forgotten and as far as facilities tag a bag it will be safer and cleaner.
