Great place!

Date:

We stayed here this past weekend in their tent cabin. It is located in the tent loop, very peaceful. Close to bathrooms (which I thought were more than adequate for camping bathrooms, clean and two large showers with plenty of room to change). The tent cabin is a perfect idea-we hate pitching our tent and then it almost always rains on us. For an extra $10 or so a night, it's a 10x12 wooden cabin with a platform patio, fire ring, and picnic bench. It locks (but only from the outside), and has two windows with blinds and screens for ventilation. The inside is all cedarwood so the bugs stay out, we had no problem at all with bugs inside, and it was a wonderfully comfortable place to sleep when the rain came in on Saturday night-we were completely protected but still enjoying the great outdoors. Would definitely go back. Bring an air mattress!

Start making those calls boodoo. You really should stop trying to guess who I am because you are slandering other people in the process. My first calls will be to NYS Department of Labor and the IRS.Owners should treat customers better and I hope they do feel hurt because thats exactly how we felt when we stayed there. Maybe they should take some classes on how to treat people properly if there going to run a public business. If you decide to be quiet sometime I would have stopped posting a long time ago. BUT you always have to have last word and if you are not an owner than stay out of everyone elses business or do you always stick your nose where it dosent belong because you love conflict and the feeling of being important because in real life your not.

OK Dodge you have proven your point. I need to remind you YOUR the one whom started with name calling. You are obviously an unhappy seasonal that was asked to leave and understandable. You could of not been a weekender with all those foolish accusations you made of the owner. How would a weekender being there less than 48 hours come up with all this nonsense you have stated, unless you were a seasonal which you were. We know who you are and when you left. I hope you enjoy your stay at KOA and vision no ill gains there as you have attempted to do to the owner. Some of the seasonal people are very unhappy with you and all your negative comments here. If there is anything anyone of us can do to make your life as unpleasant and misrepresenting as you have to the owner please let us know. Some of us are just waiting to make some phone calls that could change your life. Once again Dodge you need to stop, go on with your own life, and certainly don't forget to take your daily medications. Notice I didn't call you any names!!

Boodoo what the heck you mean brown nose ? I camped there one weekend and I could not wait to leave. You are the brown nose sticking up for the rudest owners I have ever met. You dont like my opinion so you resort to calling names and insulting me. If you are the example of what seasonals are at this camp then its no wonder the camp was more than half empty when we were there. Maybe if the guy in the office was not telling people he "was full" when they called when in fact he had over 10 empty sites he would have more business.Maybe if he quit telling concert goers the tent area was full when they called or require them to stay a 2 nite min he would have more business. Those two examples right there show how they operate.I have no problem sleeping well at nites and get up fine every day.If camping in the canandaigua area the KOA is a much nicer and friendlier place to go and has more for the money.

I don't know where the other reviewers are coming from, possibly you are not seasoned campers, but my husband and I find this campground to be wonderful. Yes, its off the beaten path but that is what makes it so wonderful. After spending time in campgrounds next to an interstate this is heaven. We have been coming here for the last three years on our travels and have found nothing but courteous help from the owners and staff. A nice blend of seasonal campers and weekenders. We have met some great people here. If you want to be close to nature and have the joy of spectacular views of the Bristol Hills this is the place to be. Campsites are huge!! All sites have full hookups and they have a water softener, nothing we have ever encountered in our travels across the country. There are activities for those that wish to partake but we prefer the quiet solitude the park offers. Would I recommend to others, have already done that!!

Dear Dodge, so what your P.O. with this RV Park move on, get a job, invest your energies elsewhere, provoke someone else, quite being so darn negative. You are absolutely foolish at this point. Don't like the drainage get some boots. Don't like the bugs get some OFF spray. Don't like the owner you should of NOT brown nosed your way about them in the beginning. With all the negativism you offer I am surprised your able to even get out of bed in the morning and type such foolishness here.

Once again you show you are an idiot. I did not call you a name. I simply stated your full of poopoo which you are. This campground is ran poorly and patrons are treated poorly. If you are as you say "friends with the owner" than you show exactly the type of people they choose to associate with.If you are a seasonal camper there after people read what you have wrote I bet there are not people knocking down the doors to go there. One weekend with this place was all I could handle. You are as rude as the owner was when I was there and that explains a lot.Go cry to the owners and you can have a pity party together. If any one at another camp ground asks about this one I will be more than happy to tell them the truth and word of mouth does spread among the camping community. I have been to many camps since Bristol and none have treated me so rudely or poorly as I was threated there.None had wet soggy sites with poor drainage and dirty restrooms. None have discriminated against concert goers or tenters. I have never heard another owner tell a patron " if you dont like it you can leave" .

You know nothing other than waste peoples time and energy on non sense. You have far to much idle time on your hands and need a job. But wait, that would interfere with your negative energy that you emit. You need to stop now and accept the fact that you messed up and don't do it again to another RV park, period.

" This just shows how full of poo you are. You are the owner and you should be worried about no one coming back as soon as the truth gets out as to how you treat people. If people dont believe me as to how terrible you are all they have to do is ask around south bristol and see what locals have to say. You are rude nasty people that have no people skills at all. All you care about is money and could care less if people dont come back a second time or not. Your day will come someday as Karma always comes back to bite you in the but when you least expext it.

Last review lists that the "permanent" campers weren't friendly at all. If you had documented "tent" in the site type what are you doing trying to mingle in the seasonal areas which are in a totally different area of the RV Park! You truly need to stop now your being totally foolish and others can see it clearly. What a huge waste of a wonderful web site and the potential it offers from people that can't spell or lie to others due to their own issues in life.

We took our entire family camping for a few days. We were terribly disappointed with th out of date, unsafe playground. The big grassy areas were all muddy and wet- although it had not rained in days, seemed to be a drainage problem. There happened to be a large number of 'permanent' sites that were not friendly at all- and seemed to be a bit bothered by us being there. We won't be back next year.

What does "The sharpest tool in the shed" have to do with lack of gray matter between your ears? It is equally sad that a perfectly good web site has to be plagued with nonsense what you have written. Ok we get it your P.O. for some reason, you leave the park "On your Own" as you say and you continue to write negative info about this park/owner. If you were truly that upset you would just leave and start over somewhere else. For what ever reason you left you would of hopefully learned from your mistakes and not repeat them in another campground. You have only supported this fine establishment by your on going negative comments that others clearly see. As I had mentioned earlier even prisons don't get Zero reviews and people know that. Please keep writing such info which will only keep his Park fully occupied by content, happy, and well deserving campers.
Thank you,

EDUCATED was spelled wrong on purpose and you just dont get it.I didnt need to rate this camp because I all ready did once all ready and any edumacated person would see that. I can prove every statement I made. I would not have made them without the proof.I also can prove I have never been thrown out of any camp ground. I just choose never to return to the ones that are not worth revisiting and to state MHO on the ones that I dislike and why.Last I knew this was America and I am entitled to my opinion even if you do not care for it.

No one is attempting to appear Educated just stating the truth. Dodge, you obviously are upset and what and how you document is truly concerning. If you would invest more energy within yourself and seek what is troubling you rather than blame others for your own faults and issues then may be life won't so complicated for you. Even prisons don't get Zero ratings! Wise up, accept what you did, don't blame others for your own inadequacies, and move on to trouble another camp ground as you have in the past. Obviously this is the owner trying to find out who I am or one of his hired guns. I did not get thrown out at all. I stand behind my rating of this place. After speaking to several seasonal campers there they informed me that this type of behaviour from the owners is not unusual at all.The only ignorant one is the fool trying to stick up for this place and they need to get their facts straight before they attempt to try and look eduacated again.

Owners very rude and he does what ever his wife says and then asks how high to jump. They play favorites with certain people and if they get a bug up their you know what they go after you. They are not handicap friendly. Pool is always cold and not worth going into. Showers are not free and half the time they wont work.If you complain to owners about something they tell you if you dont like it you can leave. Horse flys are every wheres.Water is so soft you cant rinse soap off of you and shampoo very hard to get out of hair. The good thing is the views but its a shame it is owned by them. What a waste of a nice camp.If it rains the sites all get very soggy and camp has very poor drainage. They will not rent to concert goers at the CMAC and discrimanete against them. They have instituted a 2 nite min. when CMAC has a concert in order to chase them away. They will not allow groups of campers because they have a paranoia about groups. Stay away from this place until it gets new owners.

Owners are great people. The people who wrote in their reviews that the owner was a drunk and a racist need to be put in an insane asylum and must have been asked to leave because they could not follow the simple campground rules. I have camped seasonal at Bristol Woodlands for four years now and will be there for many years to come ! Seasonal rate is high but atmosphere and scenery is great. Owners need to start showing more improvements to justify high seasonal rate or Ken and Marlene will lose seasonal campers very soon.

This was our first trip to the Finger Lakes area, and my wife and I couldn't have found a nicer campground. The owner went out of his way to make sure we got the most from our visit, and he could not have been more accommodating. By the time we left, we felt like we had made a good friend. The campground is very well maintained, and our site gave us a wonderful view of mountains in the distance. We particularly enjoyed the drive into the campground because it is maintained in a natural state. It was not unusual to see deer feeding in the late afternoon. The campground is situated close to most of the major points of interest in the Finger Lakes region, and it was easy to find groceries and other necessary items in nearby Canandaigua. We will definately return to Bristol Woodlands whenever we come back to the Finger Lakes, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the Finger Lakes to the fullest.

I dont think Ive slept better. They also have full hook ups, cabins, tent sites available. A very big playground for the kids and I even noticed actvities coming up on the weekends. I would recommend this campground too ayone who is looking for afamily get away for a weekend or week or whatever. We also toured the winerys that are all around the area and didnt have to drive to far to any of them. Will definately go back more than once!!!

The best kept secret of the Finger Lakes!

The thing that struck me about Bristol
Woodlands is that it's so peaceful--unlike a lot of campgrounds these days that have become so highly commercialized you think you're camping at the mall. The setting is awesome--you're high on the mountaintop away from it all. The sites are huge by most standards and the campground was well-maintained; the inground swimming pool has a breathtaking view around it and it is surrounded on the outside with flowers and plantings. The tent sites are separate from the RV sites and sit up on the hill. The cabins have AC/heat, which is a nice feature. The playground looked fairly new. Unlike a lot of campgrounds which are a free for all on rules and policies, rules such as speed limits are actually enforced! Families, especially with small children, should appreciate this. All in all, Bristol Woodlands is truly a jewel of the Finger Lakes. We really didn't want to leave.
