Worst Experience Ever!!

Date:

October 10, 2011

We stayed at this campground in April of 2011 with no problems and had a great time! However, this time was completely different. We decided to stay for their Halloween adventure weekend. Everything was going great until the owner told my 6 yr old daughter in the store that she could not leave the store until her 12 yr old friend came and got me because my daughter did not have her wristband on. When we checked in Friday night I was never told that we had wear our wristbands ALL weekend long and never take them off. I was under the impression that we only needed our wristbands to enter all the activities. Needless to say, I was very upset to hear that my daughter had to be left alone in the office so her friend could come and get me. Who are they to tell my daughter she couldn't leave for such a ridiculous reason!! I tried to talk to the owner about it and all she kept repeating was "Maam she has to have her wristband on!!". After that a series of other ridiculous events occurred which ended with her telling everyone in our group that we had 30 minutes to pack up and leave or she was calling the police. We tried to tell her that it is impossible to pack up a camper in 30 minutes so she called the police. The police were very understanding but we did have to leave because it is private property. I could see if we were unruly, loud, obnoxious people but we are exactly the opposite. We are still in shock that all of this happened!! She should NOT be the owner of a "family friendly" campground!!! She is a crazy lunatic!!

The owners are extreamily rude people. Holly Shores is truly the worst campground I have ever stayed at. In fact we never got to stay. My family never ever got out of the truck and car.I been camping for over 25 years and never needed help getting my 28' trailer in a camp site. When the owner came over he started yelling at me like a school yard bully telling me to drop my rig and he will put it in the site. I said fine I started to unhook the trailer when he started yelling again no not there drop it in the street RT 9. Thats when he said if you don't like it leave. So I did with a full refund. See police report on 8/13/2011.The site was H-6 very small site. Thank God for Big Timber Lake they took us in and we had a great time there. I truly never seen anything like it in my life. Never again. Don't go!

sold my pop-up and decided to try cabin camping. saw pictures of cabins on holly shore's website and they looked very nice. i booked my reservation 4 months in advance to make sure i got it. check-in was a bit hectic but of course it would be because it's summer. staff member that helped me was very friendly and we got a free beach bag at check in! he recommended some great places to eat that would fit our budget and was kid friendly. it was me, my husband, and 3 kids. got into our cabin and was suprised how nice it was. very modern and homey. it was a home away from home. kids loved the loft upstairs and my teenage slept on the pull out sofa bed. my husband and i slept in the private bedroom. there was planned activities for my kids and they loved it. the campground is also nicely located between wildwood and cape may which was nice and is just a mile away from wal mart and wawa. i will deff be coming back next year!

Owner is very rude to customers and staff.

Terrible! Don't waste your money! Just got back from a week at this place. The minute I checked in I didn't like it. The main reason....the female owner, Maggie. Very rude, not only to her customers but to her employees. Belittled them in front of me and friends my family was camping with. I was embarrassed for them. Our reservations were made 5 months ahead of time and when our friends and us checked in with 40 and 42 foot RVs, the sites were not big enough. A nice employee was helping us, but was having trouble moving us. Maggie took over and after running her rude mouth said we were "lucky" to get sites across from each other...imagine that? She banned the younger kids from the store/office because my 10 year old and 2 other young girls went to the store to buy ice. There is a bell on the counter to ring for service... Now, Maggie is not the only one in the store and she was speaking with someone while other employees were walking around. My daughter rang the bell, nobody came so she rang it again. "Boss lady" yelled at my daughter "don't you see me talking to someone? I'll be with you when I'm done!" Well, let me tell you, my daughter certainly wasn't waiting for her to wait on her, but the others that were doing nothing didn't help her either. To a 10 year old you ring the bell until someone comes to help you. I went to speak with Maggie and she, of course, denied being rude to the kids. I told her I didn't believe her as I'd seen her in action the day we checked in. Quiet time in this campground is 11pm. Our kids were at the playground and one night at 10:10pm she yelled at them that they were too loud and had to go back to their campsites. What's up with that? Also, if you've ever camped here, you will notice that the wagon they use for the hayride is the same one they use to collect trash. Yuck!!! So here's the real kicker....today while packing up to leave, my daughter and husband filled out the survey that is left the night before at your site. As you can imagine, it was not very positive. My daughter brought it to the office and my dog followed her unleashed. Yes, I realize he needed to be leashed, my fault no question. Well, because the survey was not very nice, "boss" has a male drive her to my site in her little golf cart yelling and screaming about my dog being unleashed (with survey in hand). Very unprofessional....now realize, my dog is now in my camper and has been. A camper in the site next to me told me himself that he had told her that the dog was already back at the site. She told me she was calling the police....because my dog was unleashed. Do you believe it! Well 2 police officers came AND the animal control officer. This woman is nuts. What a waste of their time. She basically called them because she was not happy with what we had to say about HER!!! It's all true. If you search this campground, you will find many negative reviews about it and many where this woman has threatened to call the police. I will say that the police were very nice to us and we asked them to stay until we finished packing up and to go into the office as to get our $10 deposit for the gate key without aggravation. Of course, she had something to say, but in the end I'm sure she wasn't happy when the police officer shook my husband's hand! Will never return to this campground and will make sure I can inform as many campers as possible.

Seashore Campground is a few miles away. Been there before and will be camping there next year!
