I first came upon this charming campground a few years ago when I headed south looking for a little time away from the “antler jams” (for those that don’t know, Northern New Hampshire is overrun with moose and the trail traffic is a real headache). I knew I’d found my perfect vacation destination when I rambled into Chocorua Camping Village. This truly is the Greatest Camping in the World!
Open from May 1 to October 15, Chocorua Camping Village encompasses nearly 200 acres along the shores of Moore’s Pond and the Chocorua River. Guests enjoy carefully preserved wooded campsites in an unspoiled environment. The resort emphasizes providing clean, attractive facilities and spacious, private sites. Nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains, the location is a blend of the grandeur of the mountains, where hiking trails abound, and the splendor of natural lakes and ponds, where fishing, canoeing and sailing offer an escape from the hustle-bustle of everyday life.
PhotoLooking northward, you will see Mount Chocorua, the most beautiful peak in the Sandwich Mountain Range. Offering excellent hiking and spectacular views, the mountain has a history shrouded in mystery and legend.
Camping necessities and special Chocorua souvenirs can be found at the Camp Store. Looking for something new to read? The trading library has plenty of books and magazines to peruse. I keep my overalls looking their best with a stop at the laundromat. Let me tell you, a nice hot shower in one of the campground’s sparkling clean comfort stations beats wading into the river on those cold mornings!
I invite you to follow me through this online tour of Chocorua Camping Village and learn more about the great activities, attractions and MUCH more!

Very disappointing. Mouse droppings, torn screen, large gap under door, fridge ran out of propane...etc
September 3, 2010
I rented two different cabins at Chocorua Camping Village and was so disappointed by both. The first had so many daddy long-legs on every surface...no matter how many i killed each day (20 at least?) there were just as many the next. Chipmunks ran into the cabin through a tennis-ball sized hole in the door, and in the morning the counters, sink and stove were covered with mouse droppings. There was a rancid smell in one, a ripped screen, and both the refridgerator and stove simultaneously ran out of propane. All my food was spoiled. Saddest of all, I never got an apology of any kind. And they would only reimburse me for the cost of the food I lost. I was paying close to $100 a night. It was so not worth it.

Beautiful setting, Extremely friendly campers and staff!

Pictured below is site 110, nice large pull through and close to pool and store. Also, a picture accross Moore's pond from the dock. You can not tell you are near a highway at any site away from the office. Super friendly staff, extra clean pool, awesome fishing (caught rainbow trout and smallmouth bass). Beach area is small, recommend using pool. Not a lot of grassy areas, but still nice clean sites. Walking trails are nice with great scenery. Store is small, but had the necessities. Game room is a little small and outdated. We loved it though and will definately be back!
Horrible and crowded, right next to highway.

These people tried to rent us a site for 47.00. The site was right next to the highway, there is a dumpster on the site, no picnic table, no firepit, it looked like a parking lot and was right next to the office. None of the White Mountain or Lake experience here, you might as well camp in your own backyard. They gave us a refund (we were there maybe 2 minutes), but kept throwing a guilt trip at me about how they usually don't give refunds. We will NEVER go back.
Luckily, on the other side of the mountain was a place 3.00 less per night that was so much better! MOOSE HILLOCK. GO THERE INSTEAD! 100 times better!
