Hickory Hills is a privately owned, family oriented campground and RV Park located in South Central Indiana. Our campground is located on 300 acres just off US231 in rural Owen County about halfway between Cloverdale and Spencer. Come to the country and experience the great outdoors in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the scenic view from one of our convenient campsites. You might also want to drop a fishing line in one of our lakes or possibly stroll along the riverbank. If that sounds too exhausting, perhaps you will prefer just relaxing by the campfire while chatting with new friends and neighbors. Hickory Hills is convenient to I-70 and other major highways and within an easy drive of Indianapolis, Terre Haute and Bloomington.

Wow what great place to camp . We arrived on Friday and was greeted by Crystal and Roger who where extremity friendly and helpful. The sites are level and they do offer full hookup. We had called early in the week to rent golf cart, but there was a commutation error and we where told that we had to talk to Vickie the owner. After talking to her and her daughter they went out of the way to get us a golf cart for the entire weekend. The place o
Is very clean and there are 300 acres with trails for walking or riding .we had invited some friends over for dinner and around the camp fire. The owner shared with us all exciting new improvements coming down the road such as a new swimming pool and the purchase if the additional acres for new campsites. We have Hickory Hills near the top of are list as favorite campground in the state of Indiana . We live in bloomington , so it's convenient place to visit and not use a ton of gas. We have travel trailer and have been camping for over 7 years
Thanks

Funny... I have been here a few times and have really enjoyed it. The horse barn is no where near the swimming beach, neither is the sewer. We did swim in the pond and it smelled just fine to us. This doesn't really sound right. There are alot of seasonal campers, but we have always found them to meet nice. The Park is clean and well maintained and the Staff is friendly. We needed a late check in once and the owner met us at the office, after it had closed. It is on a gravel road, but the quiet atmosphere and scenery makes up for the lack of asphalt. We camped by the River and the view was fantastic. We will be back in the Fall.

Never going back!!

This place is more trailer park than campground. All the good sites are long term seasonal residents. The few (20) sites that are open to weekenders are all in direct sunlight with no shade in site. They flood during light rain and are a dust bowl when its dry with roads on both sides. Its like being in a zoo as a weekender with the regular residents driving by gawking. All the facilities are in the long term area. The swimming hole is down hill from the waste water dump site and horse barn and SMELLED like it. Customer service is rude and unprofessional. Awful sites and rude staff means I'm never going back.

We stayed in Cabin 4 for a week end. It was very nice and quiet. The staff was friendly and the scenery gorgeous. On an evening walk we saw three deer grazing. We enjoyed a boat rental and fishing. The swimming pond is a natural body of water, not a chlorinated pool, but fine with us. We plan on coming back to try the canoe trip.

not for overnight camping

Date:

The pretty pictures on the web site for the perm. residents, so don't be fooled. Not for overnight campers. 95% of the "residents" live there, including several mobile homes (i'm not joking). 20 unshaded overnight spots right in front. Water is not consumable (can be used for gray water I guess). "Beach" is a muddy overflow pond. Bathrooms are port-a-potties, excect for the shower house in the "seasonal" section a mile-half away. We love camping and we really tried to make it work, but for the first time in 10 years, we left early.
