This is a very nice and friendly community on the intra-coastal waterway in Swansboro, NC.
There are only about 5 rental RV sites... with most of the spaces taken up by park model or converted travel trailers used for vacations. I got the sense that perhaps they are trying to do away with the rental sites?
In any event, we had a great time... we stayed close to the pool/playground/pavilion area (site was chosen for us by the office staff when we said we had kids). The bathrooms are safe/secured by assigned key and the front gate is controlled by a pass key. There is a small store in the office... we didn't need to check that out for anything... nor did we wander into the laundry or game room area...maybe on a longer trip? We paid $52 a night which we thought was a little steep... but cheaper than staying on the ocean (since we knew were would be using the pool primarily). They also have decent cable if you want to keep up with news/weather/favorite shows.
On the intra-coastal side of the property there is a boat launch... there is room on the sites for boats and other water craft and/or a couple of vehicles.
This camp ground is very close to historic district of Swansboro, as well as Emerald Isle and other beaches north on the island. Also at a reasonable distance are Beaufort, Moorehead City, Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point.... lots to see and do for families with young/older kids, couples and singles...
We would love to return here... even with the bugs! That says a lot because *I* am the one in the family being bitten. :)
