Buttonwood Beach is located on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore on a gorgeous piece of land adjacent to the banks of the Elk River and C&D Canal at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. Construction began in 1973 on this innovative concept in campground living, and now over thirty years later, Buttonwood Beach has hosted three generations of pampered campers. Quickly becoming one of the premiere campgrounds of its kind in the nation, we have never lost sight of our initial goal – to provide the best possible service and environment for our campers.
From the moment you drive down our tree-lined lane and pass through our electronic security gate, you’ll know that Buttonwood Beach is different from other campgrounds you have visited. After registering at the office, you will be welcome to take a self-guided tour of the resort and encouraged to talk to the residents who have been here for years. Find out what they have to say about our resort. From the moment you look out over our beach to the sparkling water, you’ll know that you’ve found a special forever kind of summer place. A place of peace and quiet where the waves washing gently on the shore speak your kind of language. A place where you can leave the stress of your every day world behind – where the sun and the stars are a little brighter, the sea air a little fresher, a relaxing place that you’ll be proud to call your summer home.
If you’ve never camped before – this is the perfect place to start. The modern conveniences are all right here. Full hook-ups including water, sewer and electric are standard features. Park model RV’s come equipped with central air conditioning, microwave ovens, built-in stereo systems, queen sized beds, cable television and even telephone (if you insist on having contact with the rest of the world). Located in the resort are laundry facilities, convenience store, gasoline and propane sales, swimming pool, open air pavilion, fenc
