elcome to Sun River Campground. Take yourself back to nature and enjoy back to basic family camping at its best. Our campground is situated on the beautiful Suncook River. It is a wooded campground with some sites located on the riverfront. Our campground is able to provide sites for all types of campers.

It is located in southern New Hampshire, only 1½ hours from Boston and approximately 8 miles south of Alton Bay the southern most part of Lake Winnepessauke.

From the South (Rt. 28): Sun River Campground is 55 miles North of the Massachusetts border on Rt. 28. From the south (Rt. I-93): Take I-93 North to concord. Get off at Exit 15-E (Rt. 4 & 202). Proceed East on Rt. 4 & 202 about 11 miles to the Epson, NH traffic circle. Take Rt. 28 North off the circle. Proceed 10 miles North on Rt. 28 to Sun River Campground. (the first right after the caution light by the Barnstead Country Store.) From the North (Rt. 28): From the Alton Bay traffic circle, take Rt. 28 South and proceed 7 miles to Sun River Campground. (The first left after J.J. Goodwins Eatery & Sports Pub.)

Campground Rules

Campground Rules # To make you stay more enjoyable at Sun river, we have created the following rules to help assure quiet & clean surroundings. # All visitors are welcome but must leave by 9:00PM or register for the night and pay the appropriate site fee. Quiet hours - 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM # Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times & should never be left alone. Dogs must not be allowed to bark & never allowed on the beach or in the water. Owners must clean up after their pet. # Campfires & cooking fires are permitted in the fireplaces provided and cannot be moved. Fire locations are strictly regulated by the NH Fire Marshall. # Firearms, airguns, power saws and fireworks are illegal & not permitted. # Fishing is allowed anywhere along the river except on the beach areas & directly in front of campsites. NH license required. # We have a large play area for children. All young children must be accompanied by an adult. # All children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult when using the wash house facilities. Do not wash dishes & utensils in the wash house. Hot water may be taken back to your camp site. # Bicycles must not be ridden after dusk, Minibikes & ATVs are prohibited. # The consumption of alcohol shall be done in a responsible manner. Drunkenness, use of illegal drugs, & disorderly conduct will not be tolerated. # Swimming is at the camper's own risk. NO LIFEGUARD IS ON DUTY.
