I took the trip from crystal springs to the halfway point.....I got off the river at the half way and only an hour into a 5 hour canoe trip due to the Horrible biting fly infestation! I did not expect any reimbursment from Russells, but how I was treated after this incident will make me NEVER return again. I was told I was basically a liar about being ate alive and that they have "NEVER" had anyone complain....I would have more than happily purchased some bug spray or anything had I been warned, but instead I paddled a two+ hour distance in less than an hour to get my kids and I off this nightmare. There was not a single point on this trip that we were not being swarmed, bitten and miserable, and the treatment by the staff was deplorable. I was told I was a liar and treated like I was making this up.......when they were the lying ones to let people take their kids down this floating nightmare without any advance warning cause they are greedy and want your money!!!!!! Think twice about this trip, you will never forget it, but you will want to!!!!
