Greenwood Acres IS a Family Campground. There is always something happening here and is enjoyed greatly by my entire family. Some favorite highlights of this campground is the Elvis event, Tropical weekend, Christmas in July, Halloween weekend, the on lot yard sales and just all around family togetherness. Greenwood Acres is clean, safe and fun.

Elvis was Great!

Went there for the Elvis impersonator and he was great! He sang for 3 hours and looked just like the old Elvis. This was really family entertainment like no other. He had everyone dancing young and old. I would definitely take my family there again for that event! We were also there for the fireworks display and they were a little slow to start but they ended in huge blast. The finale was absolutely incredible. Another event I will plan to see next year.

Huge with 2 Different Parks: 1 May be Right for You!

Date:

If you like small, intimate, and rustic parks with lots of trees, and not much else...G.A. is NOT for you. It is HUGE!. However, if you want a fun place to go and to be able to get a spot without making a 6 month advance reservation, this park IS for you. It is really 2 parks in one. About 1/2 of the park closest to the lake are lifers. Lots of trees, but smaller spaces. The newer 1/2 of the park by the entrance, golf and tennis areas are sunny and available. If you are in this area you need a motor vehicle to get to the beach, boating area, and the store. Unless, you are there on the weekend. A free cool old double-decker bus is available. Golf is within walking distance of the new area. Forget about pull throughs, but full hook ups are plentiful. Sorry, no cable.

I was pleasantly surprised by all the fun things going on for Memorial Day weekend. The pool was a little cold but very clean and the bathrooms were well maintained for a holiday weekend. The Street Dance was like going to an outdoor concert and was fun for the kids too. Really and unexpected pleasure. Would definitely go back!

my family did the whole traveling thing, we went to all around to different parks, but we decided to stick with greenwood acres. since then for nine years we have been camping at greenwood acres every weekend in the summer. you've read about weekenders and this is the truth: WEEKENDERS as they are called (people who pull in for the weekend then pull out) will say that seasonals are RUDE to them, their teens will come home and tell there parents about how MEAN people were to them. not exactly true in most cases. We really aren't mean to them they just act like they know everything and like they run the place, and that makes us angry sometimes, we don't mind weekenders when they dont act like weekenders!! as far as the bathrooms, they ARE cleaned once a day. its the careless weekenders that trash them. now if your a weekender and planing to come to greenwood acres, come, and take no affence just if you come to greenwood acres don't act like this and you will find that people will not be RUDE, MEAN, or call you WEEKENDERS.

Restrooms could be cleaner. If you are anti- alcohol then you may have a problem with this location.

Depending on who you are camped by this can be a great experience. Most people are friendly and helpful. Seasonal's are always there to help.

White Trash Acres.

Date:

June 18, 2007

I laughed when I read the previous review. The same thing happen to us. I have two teenagers. Boy and girl. They were up playing basketball. Some other teens came up took their ball and called them "WEEKENDERS". When my son took the ball back the kid punched him! Needless to say the park did nothing. We also were called weekenders by these same teens who double as night patrol. They actually yelled at us when my kids went to the bathroom and said "they are sick of and tired of telling us they cant be off the site after 11pm and they told us last weekend" . The only problem with that is WE WERENT THERE THE WEEKEND BEFORE! They main office is rude. The groundspeople are rude. And everyone treats your horrible if your not a seasonal person. I would not reccomend to take children there or use any of the amneities. These teens try to rule the park and they act like white trash. The bathrooms you dont want to go into...The store is tiny. It is not a good park. Save your time money and headaches. Go to the RV park around the corner. Or go to a Waterloo Rec....you will have a better time.

DON't camp there....So gross!

Date:

July 3, 2006

It was gross!! I don't recommend this campground at all!!!
We went to this campground because the website says they have so many things.... It was opened in the 1970's and most of the place hasn't been updated since then!! We were treated rude by many!! because we were "weekenders" as one put it. I have two children and my children mind very well and didn't do anything wrong ever! But all the elderly people though we were rude because we were there... you know weekenders. We wanted to be near a bathroom.. well we got right next to one but it was so gross that we had to drive to another one!! I think a outhouse is cleaner!!! It was horrible. We have been camping all over and never .. I mean never been to something so gross! People were either old and rude or young and rednecks. Not a place for people who want to go camping with my children and be safe and want to use a toliot that has been cleaned since 1970... you can email me for pictures.. that bad!! cubbyfan91@charter.net
