Rude & Unkept
July 31, 2012
Our first impression was an unorganized desk clerk, but she was very friendly, just slow. We made our reservations in April for July, she had written on the ticket it was a large unit, she had a site assigned to us, but doublechecks with us to see if we brought that BIG unit? YAH! Are you good at backing up? That should have been our sign to leave! The site was small, we hung over the back by 5 feet and the tongue of our unit was in the road. But that was doable, it was the RUDENESS of the men that work/own the facilities that was totally disrespectful to "guests". It was very obvious they enjoyed their seasonal campers even thou they were the loud ones and the ones using profanity. We canoed, the river is outstanding, but again the MEN we so rude and UNFUN it was pathetic. Getting to the dump station was ridiculous because of the tightness of the campground and turns. It needs to be updated to accommodate current sized units and then a little maintenance and TLC is necessary. The internet makes this place look 200% nicer than what it is!!!! We won't be back!

Early spring camping/canoeing
April 23, 2007
Very nice campground. One end is very tent friendly while the other end caters to the yearly camperer.
Seven of us showed up in three vehicles on a Friday night and camped in four tents beside the pond. We were the first on the river on the second day of the canoeing season.
The river was running fairly fast and had a tree completely across the river just below the put in point in Middleville. Aside from that it was a great day on the water.
At first we thought the man in charge was a bit cranky but he's really quite helpful and does take care of his more permanent campers. Which is a good thing.

My mom and I went kayaking here. We could not believe the way we were treated by the man who was running the front desk. He was rude and mean spirited. We came in as two happy go lucky women with a reservation for 2 to kayak and were treated so terribly it makes me sick to think about. We ended up kayaking because we took the trip to do so, scheduled our day off, and were looking forward to a new stretch of river.
The kayaking itself was very nice. However, our oars had no water guards so we got pretty wet early on even with careful rowing. The man running the desk charged us more in person than what we were quoted on the phone and was so completely rude both prior to our trip and after that we will never go back.
Please don't waste your time. If you can't have fun and be treated with respect, than why bother!! There are much better places to go!!
