We have been coming to Two Rivers Campground every year for over 6 years. We used to love this place but have experienced so many things and have left several times saying we would never come back again. We decided to try it again last year on our family vacation in July. We had two sites on the river booked for over 4 months. The owners know us quite well and had not only our address and phone number but also our e-mail. When we arrived we were met by the owner and we joked about all the money they were making with the nice weather and he said "oh no, we aren't doing well this year because our entire river area has been flooded." He told us most of the area is off limits but they found us two sites on the river. They did not offer to show us the sites first in case we weren't interested and did not even call us or give us any warning ahead of time. Most of the area along the river was roped off, mud everywhere, the beach was disgusting and it was just a mess. We were so disappointed that someone did not forewarn us. We also knew if it rained at all we would be sitting in water and probably have a tough time getting out on check out day. Wouldn't you know it, on check out day it rained several inches. We got one camper out (leaving some ruts and skid marks in the new grass) and had to have the other camper pulled out by the owner. When he came down he was quite rude and acted like it was our fault that this all happened (at least that is how we felt). He was also upset that we had made marks and ruined the new grass. Are you kidding me??? You couldn't even walk down there without making marks. If they didn't want people down there they should have called us and let us know. We were also offered no discount or anything for the conditions or the fact that we didn't get the sites we booked. We realize they have no control over flooding - that is an act of God but good customer service would have been appreciated. They should have called us, e-mailed us or even said when we got there "let's check this out before you pay and drive down the hill." They did nothing. They did nothing because "money is money." I was really disappointed with them.

I also agree with other posts on here that the campers should be grateful they were allowed to stay here instead of the owner's being grateful for the customer's. The place is beautiful but the customer service sucks and they really need to work on that and their people skills or they will be out of business. In the past I have had many friends and family bash Two Rivers and I have always defended them and kept coming back. This was the last straw so we will not be staying here again and have told many others about our experience.

This is with out a doubt the most overpriced and unfriendly place we ever stayed at. There is an extra price for everything. There seems to be 2 set of rules 1 for their "friends" and another for the regular folks. The owners both of them seem to have an attitude that we should be glad we are there, not that they should be happy to have us staying at their campground. Also they have a hard time keeping any workers. My advise would be to stay away, there is many other places that do appreciate customers.

Thia is the worst customer service we've ever seen! The owners are very rude & should not run a campground! previous guests have agreed! We made 3 reservations for full hookup 1 !/2 months early! We received 2 sites of partial hookups and i site for 3 days, the other 2. Of course she never makes mistakes so it was all our fault! Between her & her husband, they both use foul lanquage and should not run a buisness at all! We have never had a single problem in the past 8 years of camping elsewheres! We suggest don't waste your $48.a night for partial hookup & TERRIBLE SERVCE! We'll never stay here and will warn EVERYONE we know!!!

As their website indicates Two Rivers Campground is nestled in a corner of MN where the Mississippi and the Platte rivers come together. It is wooded and the campsites have the standard amenities - picnic tables and fire pits. Bathrooms and shower house are clean. Many sites have a nice views of one or the other rivers. The weekend we stayed it rained and because it is on a flood plain the sites became incredibly muddy right away in fact there were puddles so deep in spots that kids where using them as wading pools. Adding pads or gravel to the mudiest areas wold be a great improvement.

A boat launch is available and we were informed that we could bring our boat. However once we arrived we were told that it would not be allowed to be stored at our campsite and we were forced to leave it outside of the campground gates in a public parking lot. The facility was hosting a large party in its pavillion building with many non campers using the parking lot yet we were not allowed to make additional provisions to safeguard our boat.

The campgorund owners have made many physical improvements to the facility. They should now set their sites on raising the level of customer service. When attempting to reserve the sites it took multiple phone calls and e-mails to receive an intital response. Then multiple attempts to confirm the reservation. During our stay the owner was less then friendly. While this may have been the effects of a long holiday weekend there were several instances of rude and off putting behavior. Paying customers need to be treated with respect in all circumstances. This is something Two Rivers needs to learn.
