Located just 5 miles north east of Minocqua and all of its attractions, Arbor Vitae Campground is the only campground on Big Arbor Vitae Lake. Big Arbor Vitae Lake is a beautiful, 1090-acre class “A” musky & walleye lake that is also plentiful with bass & pan fish. We also have 2 light housekeeping cabins and 1 primitive cabin. Arbor Vitae Campground is an old, established, quiet, family oriented campground with a large percentage of repeat campers and we’d like you to become one of them.

Summary:

website is a joke, nothing like the actual campground.

Date:

Upon arrival after a 4 hour hike to the North woods we parked in what we assumed was overflow parking, to check in... After we went to the office came to find out that was our camping spot, directly behind the office, no privacy and a fire lane going thru the site. Making the reservations nearly 2 months prior, we notified the campground that our camper was 26' hardside with a slide, we also mentioned we were bringing a second vehicle with a boat, and could the site accomodate this? They assured us yes no problem... Our camper barely fit, and we had to park our second vehicle and boat in the site behind us. To our suprise they actually said oh, we won't charge for that. Only thing that they did right... We went to the office the next day to plan ahead for departure and asked about a dump station for the black and gray tanks. They told us, oh that is an additional $28 to dump... I stood dumbfounded, never ever heard of this.... They told us that they have full service sites and that we would need to be on one of them to be able to dump...again stupidity, apparently overwhelms the new owners, no other campground in the area charges for the dump station as a registered guest. Never ever will go back or recommend to anyone. Left a day early, so disgusted after the falsification of the web site and staff on the phone this place is a joke, and I hope they go under, they should not be in business the way there running the place. They got my extra money for the night I didn't stay, consider this a tip leave the camping business to someone who knows a little about it. On top of the disgust we experienced, we did NOT pay the $28 to dump, went to the $3 water treatment, much more accomodating, even with the drive there. Thoroughly, disgusted and disturbed by this campground.

Cozy, nice lake for fishing

We go every year to fish. There are sites where you can be away from people, but close to bathrooms and lake.
We really enjoy going every year.
