Absolutely love Whitetail Bluff. I have recommended it to many of my family and friends. The Pebworth's have been great to us and we loved it so much we are now on a permanant site. Our children have a great time here with all the things to do such as the jump pillow, pool, and park. It is also a fun crowd and great time for the adults. The facility is kept very clean and the food in the bar/restaurant is also delicious!

Perfect campground for a family with big kids, little kids or no kids at all. Lot's to do with the jumping pillow, playground, pool, and a nice trail walk on the bluff with a beautiful view of the river below. Our whole family loves coming here and it will continue to be a family tradition for a long, long time! Thanks Pebworths, you make it a "home away from home".

A lot cheaper than other campgrounds with amenities, such as: restaurant/bar on site; free shuttle for canoeing/tubing; firewood delivery (only ten bucks for a full gator load!); a bouncing pillow; and a fantastic 0"-5". There are also fun activities and entertainment throughout the summer. I've been bringing my daughter here since she was two; she's eight now and still loves it!

Lacking in respect, care and atmosphere

Date:

July 26, 2010

We were disappointed with our visit to Whitetail Bluff Campground. There are very few trees, just campers crowded as close together as I have ever seen. The playground equipment was unsightly, with a giant pile of field refuse near the playground area. People visit this campground to drink, plain and simple. The pool is right next to the bar. Grown men sit there for hours mostly drinking BY the pool, sizing up the young girls. Sometimes they drink IN the pool with their beer. Children who aren't old enough to drive are endlessly racing around the campgrounds with golf carts. I really became concerned when I watched a young girl texting as she was driving her golf cart. At night, the adults are loud and the children are obnoxious and unsupervised. The teenage employees that work at the campground (children of the owners?) were just rude. The young man scolded the children late Saturday morning when he opened up the pool, telling them to pick up after themselves next time so HE wouldn't have to. Sorry dude, we watched you pick up mostly beer cans - that was the grown-ups. On the last day when I dropped off my cabin key, the teenage girl simply stared at me, took my key, and walked away. FYI - you aren't doing me ANY favors by letting me stay here. This place lacks respect, care, and atmosphere. We'll keep searching for a better place to stay in SW Wisconsin.

Although I did not write my review following my visit, I just stumbled along this review site. Price=OK. Female Owner= Stuck Up, Snot! Male Owner(I think his name is George)= Nicest/Laid back person ever! Clean campground with fun activities, although I heard from my friends with a permanant spot that they are not having anymore activities this summer which is most likely the BIGGEST reason we will not be returning! If they begin having more activities and the female owner gets an attitude ajustment, our group just may return.

Whitetail Bluff is not a state campground but then again, there are no rangers coming around harrassing you every half-hour. Come here, relax and enjoy the campfire with cool drink and some friends. You're free here to do just about whatever.

Bring your own shade!

The owners, George and Angie are very nice people if you take the time to get to know them. I recommend it!

Wow, alot to say jam packed in this little text box. Whitetail Bluff is by far the BEST family based campground in this area, the planned activities were fabulous and very well put together. The food was GREAT. The hospitality and campsite/ poolside food and drink delivery was beyond expectations. The employees were very easy to deal with and went far beyond what you would expect as a guest/camper and you average campground. Once again Whitetail Bluff is the BEST family based campground in this area!!!

It's a great place to camp the only downfall were the 4 wheelers with young kids driving them. Going to fast not watching out for people walking. Actually saw one go into the ditch, owners were lucky that the young boy walked a way. A few feet either way the child would have been seriously injured. Something needs to be done about the 4wheelers.

George, Angie, Chase ( and yes Brandon ) all such friendly people. We are on a waiting list for a perm. site and I cannot wait. The bathrooms are so clean and so are the cabins as we just stayed in them last weekend. This is a great place to bring your kids as they have lots to do there. Looking forward to the 09 season!!! Thanks for a fun summer George, Angie and Chase!!!

We had so much fun at this campground. Everyone is so friendly and go out of their way to make you feel like part of the "family". George and Angie do a great job! The food at the Lounge is amazing and customer service is A-1!!! We are on a waiting list for a permanent here and cannot wait to get in. I don't understand why anyone would leave a negative comment? We were there on a busy weekend and nobody was loud or out of control. We will be going back again, again, and again......We also really enjoyed the entertainment provided by their son Chase he does a heck of a job getting everyone involved. Favorite SW campground!!!!

Our motto is a family that plays together... stays together! And this campground is just that! There are activities for kids of all ages... jumping pillow, pool, clubhouse, ATV trails on the bluff, playground, pool parties, DJ's, Bands, etc. My kids are 2, 4 and 7... they have fun everytime we go. The Zero entry pool is great for my 2 yr old. George, Angie and Chase do everything to make every weekend fun. They even offer campsite delivery for wood and food from the clubhouse (which is great and affordable!). We are going back this weekend for Christmas in July and the Halloween weekend in October. If you are looking for a quiet, keep to yourself campground... this isn't for you. If you like to have fun and enjoy meeting new people... then make your reservation!

We are a seasonal camper & were skepitical about it at first. We have always said we would not go seasonal, that we like to move around to different campgrounds. But my husband and I talked about it and there is no doubt about it we will be back next year. There is always something to do there whether you have big or big kids, and yes you can just sit back and relax. Even when the weather was rainy and windy we were still able to have a great time. I have and will recommend White Tail Bluff to all of my camping friends. George, Angie & Chase are wonderful people. They are always there to help when needed.

Family Friendly Campgrounds that does nothing but cater to all! Surprised by the negative ratings by a few. We have been coming to the campgrounds since year 1. Nothing but constant improvements and tons of fun. We have never had a trouble with noise or bugs. The owners are concerned about everyone's experience and are happy to help with any situation. The pool is wonderful for all ages. The new jumping pillow is soooo cool! If you don't feel like cooking, the menu inside is fantastic. The store has everything you need. Some form of entertainment almost every weekend. What more could you ask for. Will return year after year! Thanks Angie and George.

wedding week-end

Date:

July 8, 2008

We chose this campground for our wedding site because of past time spent there. Our family has chosen this site in spite of a 3 hour drive for most of us. They helped us set up our wedding at the site and this is a day we will never forget!! All other campers were informed that this would be a weekend wedding and celebration. I'm sorry that some people chose to exclude themselves and missed the fun. Whitetail Bluff is reasonable family fun and we plan on keeping them in our family circle. We invite everyone to give them a try and find a great place to make new friends and enjoy yourselves. This has been a family gathering place for us for two years and will continue for a long time.

This is the first year as seasonal. But over the past couple of years we spent many weekends camping at Whitetail and enjoyed it each time. So when decided to get a seasonal site this year, Whitetail just seemed like the perfect fit.
We enjoy Whitetail because it has things for our kids to do and it allows us to relax as well.
It sounds to me like these people were very unfortunate to get beside a group of people that didn't have any respect for others.
As for the dogs, I grew up in this area and all along the road that Whitetail Bluff is located on is country living and most of the people that have dogs don't tie their dogs up. So I believe that the dogs that are loose are from neighbor's and not camper's. I guess as guest this is something to take into consideration.

addition to 1st review-weekend camping not recommended for families, etc.

Date:

July 8, 2008

It appears from all the SEASONAL campers that are now chiming in after several years of camping that I need to make clear the negative reviews regarding this campground are in the NON-SEASONAL section of the campground. Absolutely, the majority of the seasonal sections are much more tame-these folks camp together and have a wonderful mutual respect for each other. Plus, inside a big RV, you cant hear your neighbors as easily as you do in a small pull behind type RV/camper, popup or tent. Its the nonseasonal section of the camground (we stayed near the pool/bathrooms) that lends itself to rowdy weekend warriors that party and play loud music all nite long. Since alot of people reading these reviews would be short term campers assigned to the Non-Seasonal section of the campground, for the sake of my fellow weekend campers, I have to state firmly that I do not recommend this campground for short term camping. It is impossible to sleep with the loud music and rowdy drunks that take full advantage of "no quiet time". The "be respectful of your fellow campers" is not a rule because unfortunately, as was the case for Eric last fall, and for us this summer, there's always a group of campers that dont know how to be respectful. Great price to camp @ full hookup sites. We have been more then happy with the hospitality/service @ WTBluff! This is a new campground (6th yr.) and the owners have worked very hard to make this a fun place to camp at. They have added trees and blacktop. They also have added a second bathhouse and laundry room. There is always something to do for everyone. It is a very "kid" friendly place to camp. We only use the bathrooms when we are at the pool or in the clubhouse. They are very clean and well stocked! The location is great for our family and it is very easy to get to. As for pets, we don't have any but everyone that camps seems to have pets...there has never been a problem with pets. The only rule there is to "respect your neighbor"...everyone likes to have fun! It is a great place to camp!

The images on their web-site are very appealing but don't let it fool you. There are dogs running freely and loud, irresponsible drunks at all hours. We camped with some other couples, our young children and two dogs and were stuck next to a bunch of drunks for the weekend. Swearing, bongos, fireworks shot from a pistol and violent threats from the group next to us kept us up all night and trapped in our RV. Our dogs were leashed and yet we were were constantly watching for other dogs that would wander into our site. Calls to the management to ask them to talk to the people next to us (since they still wouldn't quiet down at 4am) were met with the response of, "Guess we should have told you what kind of place this was when you registered". It's a shame; nice facilities but the place is lousy with mean and nasty rednecks that have no regard for wholesome family fun. They give you a list of camp rules when you register but you may as well toss them since nobody seems to follow them. True, there's no quiet time but the rules ask folks to be respectful of their fellow campers which was hardly the case! Don't waste your time and money on this place!!!
