While there are negatives, there are many positives to this campsite that far outweigh the negatives in my opinion.

Lots to do for everyone of every age. Little general store is adorable, prices in there for merchandise is reasonable. Entire campgrounds was clean, except for bathroom/shower areas. We rented a cottage as well so everyone just bypassed the public utilities and used the cottage to address those needs.

Everyone was wonderful to talk to, the views were outstanding. The fishing pond is the nicest fishing pond we have seen at a campsite yet.

The grounds does have very steep hills that I can imagine would be difficult maneuvering a large camper or trailer - but were do-able with a golf cart that we rented. We also rented a boat for the day, which was invaluable.

The playground for kids is the best in any playground that we have seen, extremely dog friendly and Whitewater Lake is simply gorgeous.

We are definitely going back, already have a return trip booked!

Campground is ok for tents or small campers but not medium or big rig friendly. The narrow, steep road that you have to take is full of large potholes and craters. Not very impressed with the seasonals as most places looked run down and not taken care of. Obviously, campground is pretty lax on their requirements. The "P" area sites were somewhat spacious, but most were very unlevel. We had to put five step blocks under one side to level side to side. But then, our front was so far off, had to call the front desk and have four cylinder blocks delivered so my front jacks would actually reach a hard surface. Kudos to the staff for taking care of that problem quickly. The other drawback to the "P" area is that you are a long ways from the store, lake, swim beach. The store and beach area has very minimal parking and is too close to the main road causing traffic/pedestrian issues. We did not use any of the bath houses so cannot comment on that, but the dump station is in a horrible location. You have to back in and don't have much room to maneuver. The boat launch is terrible. Besides being on the main road, it is very uneven. Myself, as well as others, had a hard time getting our boats on trailers because the trailers were at such a bad angle. We were advised by a couple locals to use the boat ramp just up the road as it is much better. Did not use the beach area but it looked kind of small. Swimming area was ok size from what we could tell. The owners, or regular employees were very friendly and nice to do business with but a couple part time employees had very little knowledge of what they were supposed to do. Some of the good points: Lake is beautiful, campground was fairly quiet and they seem pretty lax on their rules compare to many other campgrounds, several seasonal and weekender campers we encountered seemed to be very friendly. Cannot say this is the worst camground we stayed at, but not sure we will go back unless we find out they have updated/made improvements.

Fantastic Family Fun

We go here every year. They have alot of great events and fun for the kids. The beach is beautiful and the staff is fantastic. We went for wet and wild weekend last weekend and it was alot of fun. The owners put out a 50 foot plus long slip and slide, a bubble machine and brought out Ice Cream for make your own sundae's. We will be there every year until the day we have no kids because there is not a better campground in Southeast Wisconsin. If you are looking for a fun family time then this is the place.

Too expensive, No fun

The rude people that run this site care only about your money and really dont care about the quality of your stay. If you are looking for a campsite to relax and have a good time, do not go here. I agree with previous reviews that this place is run like a prison! After 10pm you cant even have a conversation around your camp fire without seeing a golf cart pull up and you will be threatening you with eviction from the site if you dont go to bed! They spy on you and follow you around even if you are just walking over to the latrine. The staff was very unorganized from the time we checked in to the time we left. Nobody on the staff ever knew what was going on, they were just carrying out orders from the owners who seem to be the main issue here. DO NOT CAMP HERE, IT IS NO FUN!

Needs major facelift

While my stay here was pleasant enough, I do agree with the other reviewer who said there is no need for speed bumps when the potholes do the trick just fine. And yes, the office is in a horrible location, then you have to back up down the busy lake access road to make the turn into the campgrounds. The majority of sites are for seasonal rigs that looked great sometime back in the 80's. You of course have to drive through all of them to get to the newer flat camping section. The new section is fine except that I would not recommend camping here if you have to use their bath house. Fairly scary. Pretty steep hills for larger rigs, also, true to the previous review, I did have to back in to the dump site. There was a wide berth, and I did get it on the first attempt with a 30 foot trailer. But still, in this day and age, I think most folks appreciate convenience. Last thing, the trail that boasts an overlook of the lake is more "overgrown", than anything else...
I'll come back when the place is cleaned up a bit.

Not worth it!

Just returned from a camping trip to Scenic Ridge. We have a travel trailer and it was nearly impossible to get it to the site. You have to drive up and down narrow pot filled roads. To add more problems there are many speed bumps, which do not make much sense as the pot holes and hills slow you down to a crawl.
The actual camping sites (for travel trailers) were large and easy to back into upon arrival. But the site is so far from anything (beach and lake are over a mile away) to enjoy this place. There are no activities for kids except for a half finished play house and a tether ball. IT IS NOT A KID FRIENDLY CAMPSITE. Kids would die of boredom here.
Also, the place is run like the gestapo. Wrist bands are checked and re-checked constantly. (They actually had people with binoculars watching you when you came and went). You must pay a two day minimum ($30) for each camper staying on site even if you are staying just one night. Outrageous!
We have stayed at many campgrounds over the years and this by far has the least to offer of any we have stayed at and was by far the most expensive per camper.
As far as a dump station, you have to back into it around the bathhouse on your way out. It was just as inconvenient as the entire layout/set up of this place. I would highly advise finding somewhere else to camp if you can. It's just too dumpy of a place. They seem to care more about rules and gaining your money than making sure you have an enjoyable experience. They also need to invest some capital in the campground to fix roads, enlarge and relocate bathhouse and bathrooms. Offering shuttles to the beach or to concert venues would also be helpful. There are just too many issues here to list them all.
