Great place

Date:

July 29, 2012

Enjoyed another great weekend at Lakeview. It was Christmas in July this weekend with lots of fun things to do. The staff and manager are very friendly and helpful. They have more themed weekends planned for the summer and we hope to be able to make some of them. My only "complaint" is that I wish they had more larger campsites in the woods for my size RV , the open sites are very nice but we like to be in the woods and they are always booked. There is a new dog exercise area that is very nice. Great place for family camping.

I've camped all over the state and just loved Lakeview. Very nice and clean sites. Lots of activities for the kids. Very service oriented staff. Nice pool area and lodge. Great bar with really good food. Excellent overall value. This is now an annual destination for us and a permanent site is not out of the question!!

If you are looking for a new campground then look no farther. The new owners are fantastic!! They have added so many new activities. We needed 6 campsites and they were able to give us group sites where we were able to eat together as well as have a large campfire. The bathrooms are spotless. We loved all the activities- hard to believe they provide so many choices free. If kids want ice cream- no problem, forgot something- no problem they have a camp store, don't want to cook- no problem great food at a reasonable price at their bar. The free outdoor movies were a hit with both young and old. This campground provides so much for the reasonable price of a campsite. I am sure you will have as great of a time as we did!!!

we were very impressed and pleased with our camping experince. The owners/staff are friendly and there is lots to do for everyone. Our little boy loved the pool, playgounds, arcade, evening movies and craft activities. The bar/restaurant is great and the bathrooms are the cleanest we've ever seen. We will definitely be back!

Great anniversary visit

Date:

October 10, 2010

My husband and I came back up here while celebrating our 1 year anniversary. We stayed in one of the rental RVs and had a wonderfully quiet relaxing midweek stay. The scenery was beautiful and staff was really helpful and friendly. Enjoyed playing mini-golf and playing in the mini arcade room. We will definitely be going back again.

great weekend

Except for the rain and extra mosquitoes the weekend was awesome. The volleyball court was a lot fun, the view when you come in of the lake is wonderful - beautiful sunsets. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The frisbee course was great. Was looking forward to coming back in August 2010. Loved the street signs and the huge arcade sign.

New owners are great--very friendly & lots of upgrades. Lots of activities--free outdoor family movies, & camper craft & rummage sale when we were there. Large campsites--either wooded or open--great for large RVs. Beautiful sunsets & views of Lake Winnebago. Excellent Friday fish fry. Very nice pool, mini golf course & game room for kids.

Since the new owners have come in I will be camping there twice this summer. They are very friendly and have made huge improvements. I went there about 3 years ago and vowed I would never go back, thankfully when the new owners took over I tried it again. Would recommend taking the family there and checking out all the new things they have added. Thank you for turning the campground into it's true beauty.

New owners are great

The new owner's, Bob & Terri are very friendly. They have already made many positive changes (much cleaner, and like the supplies in the Lodge), and plan on adding mini-golf, outdoor theater, playground equipment. They said they plan on adding street signs, and making sites bigger. The Friday fish fry was excellent. I plan on coming back Labor Day weekend when the are having a FREE D.J. and corn roast, plus special activities for the kids.
They did change the name to Boerger's Lakeview Campground.

I was recently here with 8 familys of cub scouts .
The parents and kids had a wonderful time. This place
has been taken over by new ownership the week before our camp date. The new owners are very nice and courtesous.
The swim pool was well taken care a long with the showers.
The sites have excellent tre coverage and privacy. Plenty of things for the kids to do at the campground. The night time was pretty quiet even with drinkers there keeping the peace after 11 pm . The lodge there is clean and has an excellent pizza fresh made components. Some of the sites have stumps
in the way, but the new owners are aware and are having them cleaned up. I plan on bringing just my family back next year. The scouts need a new place every year but may rotate the site in every 4 years.

We try to get out camping as much as possible. Each year we visit numerous campsites. We make it a point to get at least one weekend at Top of the Ledge. I don't know what some of these campers problems are, Ron and Sue have always been friendly to us. Their's is one of the few campgrounds left that make you feel like you're truly camping. Sounds like some of these campers should be selling their camp gear and buy a condo somewhere. We always enjoy camping there, and taking a walk on the trails.

not very good

For one there are no signs for where the sites are we seen people driving around alll day looking for their site. The owners are not very friendly. It took 10 min to get a beer at the bar and there were even 3 bartenders there for about 30 people. Neither Ron or Sue said hi or even tried seeing how we were enjoying our time there. One of our guys wanted a lemon with his water and Sue told him that was for the fish and he couldnt have any. The young man helping out did cut one up for him though. My wife was told by Sue the owner that she would appreciate her not putting her cigerette out on the floor which was very rude because my wife doesnt even smoke I would make sure before I accused anyone of anything. The horse shoe area was full of weeds we couldn't even play. I will say they did have good entertainment that weekend though. Overall they are not very people friendly and there are many improvements that could be made to make it more camper friendly.

I would like to list a few things that are in their flyer that is handed out to potential customers .
1. they advertise poolside concessions.
2. basketball court .
3. childrens playground .
It is true there is a playground , it only will accomodate 5 children at a time .
There is no basketball court.
The concession stand was not open .
The office does not open until 11:00am or later, whenever they seem to feel like it .
The wooded sites are almost impossible to get into with a larger rig - 27' or longer and the roads are not marked .
But most importantly the owners are not in the least bit friendly or cordial . If i hated my job as much as they seem to hate theirs i would definitely find an alternate way to make a living .

Great place for tenting. Lots of underbrush gives good privacy from neighbors and helps reduce noise from site to site. Will admit that the owners are not well organized when it comes to activities and not very customer oriented. But when I camp, I want to camp, so I'm fine with this! I'd rather not have someone stopping by my site everyday bothering me to participate in something. Also, the bar food is EXCELLENT!! Plan on eating there at least once during your stay!

Badgeboy I am not the owner and it is my opinion that some people do make mistakes and do learn from them. If you had a bad time at this campground you have said your peace and now it is time to move on. As for us we are happy and there has been no wrong doing. People can make their own decisions about this campground for them selves. It is not your place to tell people what to do or how to think.

Obviously the four good reviews were done by the owners to offset the bad publicity from his disgruntled customers. There is no way they would have changed their ways!!!!! Please don't believe the good reviews because you will get the SHAFT!!!! These are two people that shouldn't own a business!!!

My family enjoys the campground very much. We have camped several times in April and decided to get a permanant site. Ron and Sue have been very accomidating and very friendly. The facilities are very clean and there is a beautiful view of lake Winnebago. We have met several people wth permanent sites and everyone has been very social. I have recommended Top of The Ledge to several friends and family members.

Very unfriendly owners. Don't care about customer service. Didn't open main building until after 11:00am in the morning this included the pool. Not that we wanted to go swimming in the unkept pool. We WERE seasonal campers until the power was shut off because he didn't pay the bill. Then he tried to con the seasonal campers to go into business with him!!! If you're looking for a bad experience this is the place to go!!!
