Filthy Restroom, Rude Staff

The weekend after the 4th of July is probably often a busy one, 2011 was no different. The first thing I learned was that Camp Frandy has no lights out or quiet time, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, the dueling boom boxes blasted long into the night, at 1:00 AM the noise and festivities were still going loud and strong. You can imagine that with +100°F the porta potty aroma wafted into every square foot of the Frandy campground. Two showers (a third was out of service) for a campground with well over 100 guests guaranteed you got a chance to meet your fellow campers while you were waiting your turn. The one and only flush toilet for the men's side of camp facilities was flooded to the brim with the nastiest stuff you have ever seen, don't even think about using that one. Daybreak comes early in July, by 5:00 AM it is bright outside, though the sun is not yet up. At 5:30 AM I found the men's room closed but I spied a youth (family member I suspect) of approximately 13 a few steps away from the shower house and asked him to open up so I could use the facilities and beat the rush. 'Nope' he says, we don't unlock the shower room till 6:00 AM sharp, you will have to wait another 30 minutes, thank you very much! Well what do you think? Should I go back? Probably not a good idea.

Photo is from one of the views from site #64. Aside from the location of the campground being right on the river and walking distance into town, this campground is a major disappointment. Quiet hours were not honored by surrounding campers. Flush toilets/showers, (located in one area of the campground) are not available 24 hours - portable toilets are available throughout the campground 24 hours a day (note: bring your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer). Picnic tables are not available at all campsites (first come first serve). Nearby donkeys and horses kept us up all night. Overall I would say this is more of an RV friendly campground than a tent friendly campground. One more convenient/positive feature of this campground was having a firewood truck go around the campground, selling wood.
