Brannan Island has 102 family campsites in two loops; the Cottonwood loop and the Willow loop. Each campsite has a fire ring, picnic table and ample room for several tents on the surrounding lawn areas. There are 13 recreational vehicle sites near the boat berthing basin. These thirteen sites come with a boat berth for the same fee as a regular campsite. Near the berthing area and included in the price of a boat berth are several walk-in campsites. The campgrounds all have restroom facilities with pay showers nearby. All the family and recreational vehicle sites accommodate up to eight people and three vehicles. Six group campsites are located in the north section of the park, near the park’s day use area. The group sites can accommodate 30 people and 10 vehicles per site. Near the park entrance is the Rally Site which can accommodate large groups of recreational vehicles or groups desiring a large area for their group camp-outs.

Brannan Island State Recreation Area is a maze of waterways through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta with many wildlife habitats and opportunities for recreation, including boating, windsurfing and swimming. This park has had many accessibility improvements made over the past few years. Camping, picnicking, fishing and boating are accessible in several areas, and restrooms, parking, routes of travel, and many other supporting features are now accessible. See below for details. From October 15 to May 15, only some of the campgrounds are open, and that is on a first-come basis. Otherwise, in season reservations are available at 800-744-7275. At Seven Mile Slough and Windy Cove, beaches are off limits to dogs. Dogs are allowed in the picnic area north of the restrooms, along Seven Mile Slough. Dogs must be on leash and in the owners control at all times.
The Department of Parks and Recreation has established rules and regulations to protect park areas for your enjoyment now and in the future. To insure your visit is pleasant and safe, please observe the following: Pets are allowed only in developed areas. They must be on leash at all times and are not to be left unattended. They are not allowed on the swim beaches at Windy Cove and at Seven Mile Slough. Loaded Firearms and Hunting are not allowed at Brannan Island State Recreation Area. Plants and Flowers are protected by law and their removal is not allowed. Firewood collection in the park is not permitted. Firewood may be purchased from the Camp Host and at the entrance station. Fires are allowed only in the designated fire rings or barbecues. Ground fires are not permitted. Bicycle riders and passengers under age 18 must wear a helmet. Peace and Quiet is observed from 10 PM to 8 AM. No generators from 8 PM to 10 AM. No loud radios at any time. Archeological and Geographical Features are protected and disturbing or collecting is not allowed. Litter is unsightly and can be hazardous to wildlife. Use trash receptacles. Park Animals are not to be fed nor disturbed. Report any unusual animal behavior to Rangers. Vehicle Operation must be confined to designated roads. The speed limit in the campground is 15 miles per hour. No one may ride in the back of a truck or pick-up without seatbelts. No one may ride in a boat being towed. Campsite Use must be paid in advance, by reservation or daily payment before 12 PM. Check-out time is 12 PM. Camping Limit is 30 calendar days per year, 15 days during the peak season. Please clean up after yourself so that others may enjoy the park. Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited in all day use areas.
