This is a very family-oriented campground. Very clean and wooded.
August 19, 2008
This is a very family-oriented campground. We stayed in tents in two sites (T14 and T15) that are the closest to the water (a pond). These sites are the most private with trees all around so that you can't see any neighbors. They also had nice grass and the fire pits were built with concrete and high enough our small child couldn't fall or climb in (definitely a plus). We had 4 adults and 3 children (ages 15 months, 3 years, and 6 years). The kids loved it and so did we! The playground was just across the road (speed limit 5 MPH and everyone abided by the speed limit) and plenty big enough for the kids to enjoy. The pond has paddleboats, rowboats, and canoes you can rent by the hour. You can fish (catch and release) in the pond free of charge. The campground has activities of all types on the weekends like arts and crafts, wagon rides, and karaoke to name a few. The pond has a nice sandy beach and the pond has a very clean bottom (none of that yucky pond slime). They also have a nice pool if you don't want to go swimming in the pond. There also was an outdoor shower next to the entrance to the pool so you can rinse off the chlorine or sand from the beach before going back to your campsite. There are also bocce and horseshoe pits if you want to play those games. There is a rec room with arcade games, pool tables, air hockey, foosball, and couches and a TV to use. They also have Wi-Fi available in the rec room for those that need to use their laptops during vacation. The general store has all the necessities and ice cream and candy for the kid at heart. You can buy your wood here too for $3.50 a bundle (very reasonable). If you need to go shopping, there are three grocery stores and a Wal-Mart within a 5-10 minute drive of the campground. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen at a campground! There is only one bathroom with showers and they are free (2 showers for girls and 2 for boys) but since we took our showers in the morning, we didn't run into any line to use them. You can burn your campfire all day and night as long as it is attended. Also, as long as you are quiet late at night, no one cares if you are up late and enjoying yourselves. The owners of the campground live on the premises and are extremely nice and helpful. We had so much fun; we are definitely going back next year!
