Beautiful, heavily-wooded coastal campground surrounded by the Intracoastal Waterway and Cape Fear River on three sides. Access to great coastal fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking and beach combing. Minutes from the beach, boardwalk, a world-class aquarium and 15 minutes from downtown historic Wilmington, NC and the USS N.C. Battleship Memorial. Campsites were recently renovated in 2009 with fresh tend pad gravel, new picnic tables, edging around the sites and many new fire rings. There are NO electrical hookups at any of the sites (except the handicapped site). There is an RV dump station at the exit. Bathrooms are large and roomy and feature hot water and showers. There is water sites around the campground, evenly spaced out between the sites. Most sites can accommodate two tents. Several RV sites are drive through.

Carolina Beach State Park is located off US 421 in New Hanover County on Dow Road, 10 miles south of Wilmington. From Raleigh, take Interstate 40 east. After approximately 122 miles, the interstate turns into NC 132. Continue south on NC 132, driving through Wilmington. US 421 will join NC 132; continue south on US 421. After driving across Snow's Cut Bridge over the intracoastal waterway, turn right at the second stoplight onto Dow Road, and follow the signs to the park entrance, which is on the right on State Park Road.

Simply find a site with a tag hanging from the sign post, return it to the visitor's center and pick up your parking pass.
-Pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet at all times. Pets must not be left unattended. Campers must confine pets to enclosed vehicles or tents during the park's quiet hours. -Pets are not allowed in bathhouses, changing areas, rinsing stations, swimming areas, restrooms, visitor centers, rental boats or group campsites. Exceptions are service animals and authorized search and rescue dogs. -Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. -Pet owners may be asked to remove dangerous or noisy pets from the park. -All pets within the park must have a current rabies vaccination.
