camp from hell

Date:

July 1, 2012

This is a camp from hell!! Awful set up, horrible and cruel personal and ownership. The entire organization is based on screwing the customer.

For our 4th of July camping trip, we (4 families) made a reservation 7 months before as we have a 10 years tradition of camping since we were all singles . Now we have 3-7 years old kids. Our children look forward to our annual camping trip for the entire year. We got there and were surprised to see a camp with sprinklers, flower pots and manmade nature. We thought that's ok, it has a nice river instead. We got our campsites which were basically the front yard or parking lots of the cabins! The set up is only for making money out of every inch of the place. We set up after a couple hours and serve dinner. It was around 10:10 that a cold face ranger showed up and told our kids to bring their voice down instead of talking to us. We tried to calm kids but the 3 years old was very excited and was laughing, having a good time. The ranger showed up again and asked up to "shut him up"! His father tried to talked the ranger out of this but it didn't help. He basically stayed there until we took the kids to the tents and slept at 10:30. No heard feeling though. We thought we should have checked on kids friendliness of the camp site before for after 10pm!

The next morning right at our breakfast time, another female ranger who was extremely rude showed up and said, if the last night episode happens tonight they throw us out. I was so angry that they don't even appreciate our reaction to stop a 3 years old being a normal kid last night. She started shouting me and threatening us. We couldn't belive that they can do this to us for something that happened last night. Anyway she left grumbling and we thought it's over, getting ready to go to the beach nearby. One of our friends who is very nice without telling us went to the office to assure them that we will be more careful tonight. But the woman called the camp owner. the owner comes and start giving hard time to our friend, even asking the 50 years old guy to "repeat after him"! At this point he is so fed up that he start leaving the office. The woman stopped him at the door telling him he can't interrupt her leaving!!!!

He walks towards our campsite and we see the weird looking owner (I think that was the criteria to hire) following him shouting and yelling! Now we all get involved and try to calm her down but she is telling us that you need to leave right now! We said that we paid and we can't find another campsite at this point. But she has no FEELING whatsoever. Our kids are crying and the other neighbors get involved telling us that they didn't even heard any noise from our camp last night! They give us their numbers and emails to be witness.

Anyway, they made us pack and leave without even reimbursing us.
Apparently there was wedding and they had a long waiting list with jacked up prices to rent the camps!

We don't recommend any camp to anyone. These guys are curl, rude with no sense of customer service. They hate kids and ethnic communities. At the end the nature is manmade!

If yo like camping Beware!

Date:

February 27, 2007

Ok so my opinion of this place is low. I was expecting alot more, the problems started when my girlfriend and I arrived for our week long stay, which I had reserved and prepaid for about 6 months in advance. When we got there around 12 pm we were told that the previos occupants had not vacated the site yet, AND that there was no place we could park and wait so come back later. 1PM I return after leaving my girl at the resturant up the street (which was yummy ) I am now told that they do not have a site available for us at all unless i want to swith sites ever other night. I informed the attendant that I had Paid reservations for a specific site booked 6 months ago, his attitude was pretty poor saying that if i did not want to switch sites 4 times in my 7 day stay that there was nothing he could do about it. I insisted on speaking to a manager or someone who was able to speak and act on behalf of the place with some type of authority. I was now waiting for another 45 minutes before a older lady approached me and asked how she could help, after explaining my situation (which the attendant had not even informed her of) she asked if i would be willing to wait for a few minutes while she check a few things. After about 10 minutes she returned and asked if I would like something to drink while i waited, which she sent right over to me. after about 20 more minutes she returned to me with 2 options, 1. I could take a site right next to the playground for the first 4 days then move to a different site, or 2 be put on "standby" to see if anyone cancels on one the other sites including 2 different "Premium" river sites at an addition 12 more dollars a night (now $45. per night for a tent site). As there was no way i wanted to be next to the playground I went with option #2, but having no confidence that we were going to get anything after another 2 hours and several more problems (like a premium site becoming available but a attendant renting it to a walk in who had arrived within the last 30-45 minutes)I was able to secure a "premium" river site for 3 nights and a different site for the remaining time. The "premium" site was not too terrible, it was very cramped (all the sites were pretty much right on top of each other) but the next morning all kinds of people were rudely tramping through our site to get to the river even though there was not a clear path at our site to the river and about 150 feet away the was a path meant to get to the river that did not go through anyones site, and another right up at the tube rental hut. Several times my tent was kicked, dust was raised and ended up in our lunch, our stove was knocked over, etc. i t was horribe and very trying on the nerves of someone who just wanted to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The facilities were dirty and the only real plus was the laundry room where we could wash the clothes that knocked into the dirt from the rude people and the closeness of the store and restaurant up the road. Unless i sell out and buy an RV I would never ever return here without a firearm to my head. I could go on and on about all the negative things that happened while here, but it may be different with an RV or in one of the cabins. All in all not a good tent camper site for a couple with no children.
