Here once in the late fall in 2012 - one of two occupied sites total. Then O.K. Returned Memorial Day 2013. Fireworks at 11 p.m., barking dogs various loud parties - the loudest kicking off at 12:15 a.m. upon the return to campsite of several carloads of folks evidently out partying elsewhere. Car panic alarm at 1:30 a.m. for 2 minutes; folks in and out of cars until 3:00 a.m. with keys in ignition and key alarms going off; great colorful language for the kids; you get picture. No oversight or campground manager, no DNR or Allegan patrol, totally do whatever you want kind of place. Another (Ely Lake the other) party location for Allegan locals.
Here twice in two years and both times horrific. How bad? During first 2012 stay loud partying until 2 a.m.(f-bombs, loud music and cutting trees at midnight) culminating in a several police cars converging on the campsite next to me looking for drug felons (who'd left minutes before). Second a repeat with campers returning from bars at 12a.m. - 1 a.m. and firing up music, loud dogs and what ever the he%% they wanted until after 2 a.m. Here the no alcohol, no fireworks and 10 p.m. quiet times are a joke. This is where Allegans finest go to party the night away with seeming indiscretion.
