Not only are we just minutes from the fantastic beaches of Ogunquit, Wells and Kennebunk; we are also literally just up the road from the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge. But if nature hikes are not your thing, how about a boating excursion, or some deep sea fishing? We are just a short drive from York Harbor, Perkins Cove, Wells Harbor, and Kennebunkport where you can sail out on the beautiful Atlantic.

Rather be indoors? Try a short ride to the Kittery Outlets and see what discount shopping is all about. And don’t forget… It’s only 40 miles north to Freeport and the fabulous L.L. Bean! Or take a trip back in time at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunk, or the Wells Auto Museum.
For thrill-seekers, we’re just 10 short miles from the amusement parks and waterslides of Old Orchard Beach, York, and Saco!
Try going to one of the many Summer Theater Productions in the area. The Ogunquit Playhouse is just down Route 1, and is renowned for it’s consistently high quality of entertainment. Or, you could tour the art galleries and gift shops in the area. The area still boasts a large population of painters and sculptors, displaying and selling their works in galleries all over the Seacoast.

Antique and collectible shops abound and treasures lie hidden just around the next corner… Dock Square in Kennebunkport and Perkins Cove in Ogunquit are loaded with charming shops waiting for you to explore.
And don’t forget about the great variety of fine restaraunts. The region boasts almost every style of cuisine, and foods for every taste.

Our stay was a very unpleasant one. We did not enjoy Riverside. The owners are rude, grossly unprofessional and unaccommodating. The camp sites are extremely small and not well maintained. There is not an easy access to the river, the bathrooms are dirty and the pool is way too small to accommodate that many camp sites. I would not reccomend this camp site to anyone. My kids were upset to stay in the "projects" of Maine.

Owners are jerks..that did not change with owership. Poor electric kept failing. Disgusting Bathrooms! No customer service...Owners to busy at beach to assist campers. Sad State of affairs.

Stagnent Riverside Campground. Bugs. Small sites crammed together. Owners have serious attitude when asked to assist. Electric failed every 30 mins or more and girl in office said she could not assist but would let owners know when they returned from beach later in day???? Later in day.?? These power surges must have serious effect on RV's electric systems. We were glad we were in a tent. Our laundry was held hostage and became mildewy in machine. Crazy. Do not camp here if you want to relax. I even saw the owner chase two small children off the swingset. They told the man they were under twelve but that did not seem to matter. This is no way to operate a family campground. We will not return and feel we were ripped off as this is not what they advertise on the website. Save yourself some big vacation headaches and stay somewhere nice with nice owners.

We have camped here when the old owner owned the campground and now with the new owners. There is a dramatic difference. Every year we come the new owners add something new. One year there was a new playground and the pool was redone, another year a laundry room was added and this year there were new roads everywhere.

We like it, the price is good and they don't require a 2 or 3 night minimum. We talked to someone that was tent camping down the road and they paid the same price we paid for our rv stay for 2 nights and they stayed in a tent site with no electricity or water.

I don't understand the other post-it's a campground near the beach, not a resort or state park. It more than adequately filled our needs, and the servoce was nothing but fantastic. US 1 is nearby, but there's no interstate-it's just main street Wells. I personally spoke with the owners, and I don't see what the last post was talking about-two very friendly people.

We arrived on a Saturday to stay until Monday. We checked in and went to our site and could not believe how tiny the site was. You were literally sitting on the head of the person next to you. Two of thier sites are the same as one anywhere else. It was not attractive in anyway. There was an interstate on/off ramp behind a babbling brook, which was actually a stagnant quagmire. The bathrooms and showers were gross, small and minimal. I went to complain and let them know that we were leaving and would not be staying. I asked that we at least not be charged for Sunday. They said that they could not make that desciion that only the owners could, and that there were no refunds. I asked that they call the owners, who were unavailable. Someone did call me back and was not gracious at all. In fact, she ended up hanging up on me. Telling me that we did not check in or out. This was a lie as we had a "free" garbage bag they gave us during check in and I went to the office to let them know we were not even setting up camp and leaving...BIG RIP OFF..SCAMERS. Worse place I ever saw.

In response to the last review:
The ownership changed hands in March of 2007. I worked for the old owner and he was an elderly man that would rarely come to the campground at all-and customer service was by no means his first priority. the old manager, who I'm sure is the man you talked to, would just delete voicemails and sedlom answer the phone. They also didnn't care about the appearance of the park that much either. I still work at the park, but now for the new owners. They have made so many improvements in the past year in a half-I get compliments about it every single day I'm working in the office from both seasonals and transients. They have re-painted all the buildings, re-done the office comlpetely, re-done the pool, added a nem Cedar Works playground-and also moved the playground area away from the entrance to the park. They just added on a laundry room with three washers and four dryers. they are extremely concerned with customer service, and want the park to be known as a family friendly park. In my opinion they're doing a great job. They know that the reputation of the park is not a great one, and they're really working on turning that around.

I made a reservation for August 20-27-2006. The deposit was placed on my charge card. $241.93 I had to cancel the reservation and did so via the phone 7/18/06. Almost a month in advance. The internet add policy state 1/2 of the deposit will be refunded if you cancel within two weeks of the resevation date. I spoke with the manage at least 4 times regarding this as I never got the $120.96 refunded. The owner never was available. The last call I made to this campground was 08-10-06 asking about the status of my refund. The manager told me he had spoken with the owner and "He hates to refund money!" To this date I have not received a refund. This is a poorly run, dishonest campground and I warn everyone I know to stay away do to our experience. We never camped here and never will. They shoud be shut down!!!
