I received a call from Michelle, she was rude and told me there was a problem with my reservation and proceded being extremely rude so I informed we are canceling our planned stay!! We will NEVER be camping at Loons Haven! I have worked in customer service for many years and this the first time I have ever encountered such rudeness! If you want more Maine or Out of State Business, I would suggest kindness and RESPECT!!! Like I get from other campgrounds!! You depend on campers to stay open Remember that!!

This is not a place I would recommend to my worse enemy, the seasonal campers are rude, the owners are not at all friendly, you are not allowed dogs on the beach but they have their big nasty one there, there is this huge lady that sells dogs there who is loud and rude at first I thought she owned the place but I think she is just rude and lonely she appeared to be alone, rules only are applied to the campers they like, there is also a guy who shots a handgun on the premises so if you have kids an animals be ware

Seasonal campers occupy 90% of the sites. They don't mind loud partying until the middle of the night. Management does nothing to stop them. This morning there was vomit on the bathroom floor. There were 4 families in our group. One arrived 1 1/2 hours ahead of time for a site that had not been occupied for 4 days. They wouldn't let them set up. The closed the nearby bathroom and told us we would have to use the other, up the hill about 400 yards away. Very convienent especially in the middle of the night. Was given 3 different stories by the owner and his staff. No shore access for fishing and the rowboats were out for repair! I think the oars needed a tune up. Other than the beach, there was nothing to make this special. Way over priced and very poor management.

I would recommend everyone NOT to go there. This isn't a place where you will feel welcome one bit. We showed up early in the middle of the week and we had family there already who been there for the whole week and they refused to let us check-in claiming that our site wasn't ready when it hadn't been in use all week. Also they gave us a site several campsites away from our family that had 3 sites all together. The people in the office are rude and claimed they didn't know anything about the campground. The people who are seasonal that stay there are down right rude to you and yell comments at you or just stare at you like you were a criminal. They over charge and if you have a camper there is a charge to use air conditioner. Worst and unfriendly place I have ever been.

Summary: | extremely overpriced camping trip | |

We (2 of us) were charged over $400.00 for 6 nights on a tent site. We had 1 extra adult for two nights and were charged an extra $75.00. They charged us for 7 nights even though we only booked, three weeks ahead, for 6 nights. The owners are very rude and have no respect for their guests. There was no soap in the bathrooms, not even an empty soap dispenser, so if you decide to camp here, make sure you bring your own every time you need to use the facility. They allow dogs but they will yell at you if your dog does his business and you don't pull the poop bag out of your pocket fast enough. There are plenty of other campgrounds in this area. I would advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere. Do not allow these people the privilege to have you as their guests. Please don't make the same mistake that I did.
